Luncheon with Danish Ambassador to Lebanon

In collaboration with the Institute for Women’s Studies in the Arab World at the Lebanese American University, and on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2012, the Danish Ambassador his Excellency Mr. Jan Top Christensen held a roundtable luncheon on March 8, 2012 at his residence.

The roundtable gathered women on “Who is She” database with expertise in political participation and civic activism in the presence of a selected circle of media to discuss the subject on “how to promote women in Lebanese politics”.

The discussions held evolved around the obstacles that prevent women from actively participating in the Lebanese political life, as well as the Lebanese laws particularly the ones pertaining to gender based violence, citizenship, and the personal status code.lunch with the ambassador2.jpgAttendees
