A visit to Sarah’s Bag gave the journalists an opportunity to learn about that exemplary initiative.

IWSAW and the Thomson Reuters Foundation led a weeklong workshop in late October to train journalists on objective reporting of women-related issues.

Twelve men and women from different Arab countries participated in the “Reporting Women” workshop at LAU-Beirut, which aimed to improve news coverage of women and to empower women reporters and boost their self-confidence in a male-dominated field.

In addition, participants learned the importance of social media.

The final day featured a visit to Sarah’s Bag, an organization that provides jobs to underprivileged women, and a visit to Amel Association, where they met women refugees.
