In light of women’s political participation in Lebanon, the Arab Institute for Women organized a Food4Thought event on women in decision-making at LAU, Beirut. The event hosted a key note speaker, Dr. Manel Kadri, a gender expert, political activist, and Leaders for Democracy Fellow (LDF). Dr. Kadri discussed in Arabic, the difference in women’s political participation and their roles in decision-making between Lebanon and Tunisia. Dr. Kadri explained why and how we should promote women’s political participation and leadership in all forms of decision-making. She also gave lots of examples and anecdotes about Tunisian women who have suffered from gender discrimination in politics.
