On March 22 and 23, 2016, IWSAW organized its Food 4 Thought session about “Politics & Women”. The informal discussion brought together students, faculty and staff to discuss women’s political participation in Lebanon through an interactive play organized by the Lebanese Women Democratic Gathering.

The event started with a theatrical sketch to present several challenges women face when they decide to run for the elections. Following the 20 minutes skit, several students performed their vision of how the play should have ended. Students were split in their opinion regarding women’s political participation - some believed that no real change will happen in light of the current political system and electoral law. The event was very timely given the upcoming municipal elections due to take place in May.
