Our first Food4Thought for 2018 brought to light the role of Gender in the Qur’an.

The event included a thorough analysis of the role of women in the Qu’ran, followed by a lively discussion about specific verses. A captivated audience then participated in an interesting discussion about specific verses from the Qur’an.

The talk was given on January 9, 2018 by Dr Maria Dakake, an Associate Professor of Religious Studies at George Mason University in Virginia, USA. She is the director of the undergraduate Interdisciplinary Islamic Studies program at George Mason University (GMU), and is a founding member of the Ali Vural Ak Center for Global Islamic Studies.

Stay tuned for our next Food4Thought, coming up in February.
