Given the lack of funding opportunities, local non-governmental organizations in Lebanon are in dire need of personnel who can write successful proposals to maintain the sustainability of their projects and organizations.

As an attempt to fill this gap, IWSAW hosted on April 6, 2016, distinguished Professor, Dr. Suad Joseph to administer a one day workshop on how to write proposals.

The aim of the workshop was to build the capacity of the local NGOs, especially the ones working on women and gender issues, in proposal writing skills to achieve sustainability so they can continue and expand their work.

The workshop hosted 20 Lebanese NGOs. The atmosphere was interactive and the participants highly benefited from the extensive knowledge and ample experience of Dr. Joseph in proposal writing. The participants also benefited from the practical examples discussed in the workshop that were based on pre-submitted abstracts.
