Carol Khater
Carol Khater is the Senior Deputy Director at AiW. She oversees the management and implementation of AiW grants and programs, ensuring compliance with donor and LAU requirements from project inception to close-out, including budgeting, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, and deliverables. She leads the Institute’s operational planning and budget oversight, contributes to institutional growth strategies, mentors staff, and supervises day-to-day operations. She coordinates AiW publications, including Al-Raida journal and the Institute’s annual report, and plans and oversees conferences, workshops, webinars, awareness campaigns, and academic initiatives such as the Gender in Development and Humanitarian Assistance (GDHA) Associate Diploma in collaboration with LAU’s Academy of Continuing Education (ACE). She reviews donor proposals and narrative reports, screens and supervises trainers, represents the Institute nationally and internationally, and serves on behalf of the Director when required. Carol joined AiW in 2001 as a student assistant, became a full-time staff member in 2008, and holds a BA in Social Work and an MA in Education from LAU.
